COMMENTS: I purchased this car in 2003 in Syracuse, NY after totaling my previous CE. I just car this car back from the body shop after a hit-and-run accident. She has a new left quarterpanel. It has been re-painted and now is not stock with painted bumpers, trim panels and license plate panel. It has been painted with a PPG paint mixture to approximate the graphite metallic that is stock on the 1994 CE convertible, but with a silver instead of gold strip. As for differences in mechanics, here's the list 16' super aero wheels from a '95 9000 Aero shod with Bridgestone RE750's (I may buy Nokians this winter). COMMENTS: I have owned this car since new. I bought it on 19 March 1994 at Spreen's of Passaic, New Jersey for registration in New York ( I still have original sticker and invoice and all service invoices )and original New York plates which I switched for personalised ones. I remember coming all the way out from NYC in taxi to test drive car on snowy day in February 1994. The sales agent told me she was suspicious that I was going to steal the car because I had travelled so far by taxi to see it and also had ' funny accent ' ( Brit! ). Had seen one at Zumbach in NYC but they were not interested too much in negotiation. It was also registered in Connecticut from 2002-2004 and in Florida from 2004. Most of the miles came from driving from NYC to Vermont for skiing or to Long Island in summers. Otherwise mileage would be even lower. I could just never part with this car ( and never will ), through all the moves and the Mercedes and other family cars that followed, even when I moved to UK. Now, it is time to restore this car. Mechanically sound and otherwise in great condition, there are some cosmetic things which will make it look much like new ( top and front seat covers ) and I am going ahead with this now with emphasis on getting as close to OEM as possible and have found a place that says it can do it. So off we go!

COMMENTS: I bought it in 2001. I am the second owner and have only driven it summers for the past five years. It is garaged all winter and has never seen a Vermont winter. If you haven't, you should though! All original equipment, except the wheels. Sadly, I sold them and bought some fancy low profile Italian rims that I really like (see photo). The top was replaced in 2001. The A/C stopped working summer of 2006, but other than that, everthing is working. I recently bought a new hard-top convertible that I can drive year round. I am hoping to put less mileage on my truck since gas is so expensive. COMMENTS:I got this beauty off of ebay a couple of years ago and drove it from Rhode Island to Texas with the top down most of the way! Since then I've pulled it out of the garage every couple of weeks to enjoy it. I'm the fourth owner. It's in good condition (interior's really nice). The only modification I know of is the stereo (I have an original stereo but I like the Sony Xplod that's in the console). Also, for some reason, the fog lights were taken off (I've got brackets ... still need foglamps). My wife is making me sell it (new baby, new priorities ... maybe I'll buy it back in twenty-plus years when he's through college!). It sure has been a treat driving the last of the finest.

I kept her in the garage and put over $11,000 worth of TLC into her at the the oldest authorized SAAB dealer in the country. They have done all the work, including rebuilding the engine. I have her papers (on all the repairs), but the last repair bill was going to go over xx so I sold her to the dealer where she still sits. I have the original rims with new high performance snows and sport rims with new high performance tires. A great car to repair or use for parts.]

COMMENTS: I bought this car in 2003 with 57,000 miles from the original owner who moved to Tahoe from Connecticut. It's all original, and very dependable. There are some nicks in the paint, and it needs a new top. It came with the original tan boot/cover for the top, and so now have two of these if anybody wants one? I had to replace the fuse (under the back seat) for the heated seats, a motor mount, and the clutch slave cylinder thing. The heater cold/hot dial has issues sometimes, maybe caused by the stereo wires of my Alpine CD player. The transmission is fine, except that I have to hold it in reverse if backing uphill. Something fried after working the car (with tire chains on) out of some deep snow. Bummer! Mine has the red box under the hood on the driver's side firewall. Burl dash, leather seats with dark border, and the original rims. So that's my SAAB story.

I bought the car Jan. 2010 via the Internet in San Diego. I expected the car to be in a fair condition, however it appeared to be in a fairly poor condition upon arrival here in the Netherlands. A LOT of work to be done this coming winter! An advantage is my experience with restauration of cars, and in peticular SAABs. Before next spring I want it to be in prestine condition. It needs a paint job, a new hood (I am going to replace the black one for a tan one) and a lot of electrical, mechanical and cosmetic restauration. Maybe I am adding SPG panels as well.

COMMENTS: I am the second owner. The first (a friend) bought the car in Cleveland, OH. I've had the car since 1999. One of four I have owned, including a 1976 EMS, 1984 900S and 1988 900 Hatchback. Of course the '94 CE is the most exciting and pleasurable to drive. I have kept it up through a Master SAAB mechanic so it is in very good shape mechanically. It has a four year old top in the original tan color and has been repainted the original metallic black color. Heated seats don't work and the Cruise Control only works occasionally. Heater and A/C are in great shape and the radio/CD player are operational.

I bought the car from Swedish Motor Cars, Church Falls, Virginia. She was shipped to Le Havre harbour, and I drove her home to southwestern France. After fixing some mandatory modifications (front lights, turning lights etc.), I finally succeeded to go through the customs formalities. The front hood was repainted, and the top changed. The engine is running perfectly, and now the car is looking almost as a new one, after some work on the front seats. This black beauty is rare in Europe, and is experiencing a good second life on the French Atlantic Coast close to Biarritz.

COMMENTS: I purchased this car in May 2003 from its third owner. All of the work on my CE has been performed by Håkan Wiberg of Swedish Pro-Tech in Hermosa Beach. It is running as close to new as one could expect from a car with its mileage. The transmission was replaced in 2006 with a special-order unit rebuilt by Eriksson Industries of Old Saybrook, CT. The turbocharger was replaced in March 2009 and the new (rebuilt) TE05 has given the car lots of newfound pep. The original top was replaced by the third owner and is black, but when it comes time replace that one, my CE is going to become a blond again.

In 10/2000 another salvage title issued in Adamsburg, PA, water damage was reported. In 5/2001 a rebuilt title was issued in Butler, PA. In 2/2003 it had a new owner in Ebensburg, PA. It has a 'reconstructed' title, due, as I understand it, to the fact that it was siezed under a towing lien, and then sold at auction, which is where I bought it. It is in good shape, a little body work, but nothing major that would constitute a reconstructed title, but there it is. I just drove it back from Reno and it didn't burn any oil or give me any trouble. Wrong color top is on it, new seat reupolstery is nice, but didn't keep to orginal black-tan scheme. The bumpers and side trim were painted to match the body, and have no chrome accent strips.

COMMENTS: I purchased this car in 2006. I drive it almost daily around town, once to New Orleans and once to Dallas. I have had to replace the hydraulic line to the clutch, the ignition rotor, review mirror, one of the seatbelts. The heat seaters don't work (not a necessary item in Houston), nor does the cruise, but I plan to try and repair them soon. The top needs replacing, but the Houston Sun will do that to a top. I have tried to keep it as cherry as possible. My Cd player stopped working and the stereo is showing signs of age (takes awhile to warm up) and I cannot decide whether to replace it with a modern or pay to have it fixed. What can I say, I love my baby!

COMMENTS: Originally came with a full dealer-added Airflow kit but was involved in a minor accident in the late 90's that damaged the front bumper, lights and hood and put some scratches on the front of the doors. I assume the original Airflow bumper was too expensive so a standard one was installed along with a used hood and new lights. COMMENTS: This car, originally from Texas, had a tree fall on it with only 90 miles on the odometer. It was totaled and sat in some salvage yard in Texas for few years. It was rebuilt with salvaged SAAB parts and later sold at salvage auction. in 1988 it was registered in Oklahoma. In 2000 it was registered in Indiana. In 2001 it was registered in Pennsylvania. I bought it in 2004 with 40K on the odometer. The only parts on the car that were original was the engine and tranny, the front end, the passenger door and the interior. Whoever put this car back together did an incredible job. A former owner put many performance parts on the car and installed SPG ground effects. I began a ground-off restoration in 2005. I got about 75% done with the project when I found an immaculate CE with only 60K miles (#363). I gave up on the project. Since it is not a matching-numbers car, I plan to salvage what I can then lop the back off of it and make a matching trailer to tow behind my good CE.

COMMENTS:This SAAB 94CE (#219/500) was originally delivered to a dealer in Arlington, Texas - but was transferred to a Southern California dealer and originally sold on 5/31/1994 to its first owner. At around 16,000 miles, in June of 1997, the original owner moved to Arizona. The car remained a southern car until April 2002 when it was shipped to Syracuse, NY to be loved by its second owner with just over 32,000 miles At the time, they paid $14,000 for the car. I purchased the car in June of 2005 with 42,100 miles on the odometer. The condition of the car is nothing short of wonderful. It has been fully maintained it's entire life with regular mileage service and even oil/filter changes every three months even if the car was only driven for a few miles. The car is all original, except for the tires and battery. I added a few accessory items to the car, including a DRL relay, a trunk-mounted CD Changer, three-way dash speakers and a very-rare rear decor panel - and I fixed a few things including the power seat back cables, heater valve (of course!!) and factory alarm. The car was featured in the 2006 SAAB Owner's Convention Concurs event in Lake George, NY.

COMMENTS: I bought this car after seeing it in a dilapidated state sitting on the side of the road in Marin (north of San Francisco). The car ran and the A/C worked and the top went down, the only requirements I made. After purchasing it I found out it was a CE. I cleaned the moss of the roof and the mold from the carpet and fixed the radio and a few little things and have put almost 40,000 miles on it in the year and a half I've had it. I never expected such a fast and fun ride and have enjoyed it more than cars I had that were much more expensive. This CE started life in Michigan, moved to Kansas and came to Marin in 2000. I found it and saved it from sure death in May of 2006. The car is still all original including the top and is faster than ever, I expect someone modified the APC as it builds a lot of boost. I would be interested in purchasing a lower mileage car if anyone has one available at a reasonable price.

COMMENTS: I bought this car in 2002 in Fort Collins, CO with 81,000 miles. I had looked at 4 other comm. eds (two in CO and two on the east coast) before finding this one. Was very well maintained and interior and exterior were near mint. Prior to that, it was a leased vehicle in Chicago. I drove it from CO out to MA in the summer 2002. It ran a little hot and upon return, had to do the head gasket and radiator. Since then, replaced the top and rear glass (with tan of course, upset with all of you who change over to black!!!) and a few other misc. things. Added the rare ski rack and put on a set of Aero Rims from a 92 9000 Turbo. I loved this car but recently sold it to a woman in Houston, Texas. Car was recently shipped there and is happy to be out of the Northeast and in a warmer climate. But I will miss her -- most beautiful convertible with either top up or top down... COMMENTS: I rescued the car in November 2000 out of a barn in horse country near the New York / Connecticut border with 142,000 miles. It had been leased and then owned by a doctor who had it serviced religiously (so it was in great mechanical condition) but didn't maintain the body or interior very well - dented fender; bumper corner pushed in; rust near wheel wells and leading edge of the hood; worn leather on the front seats and shifter boot; missing trim pieces; fog lights and front spoiler smashed into a gravel ditch; original top was very worn, leaking and dry-rotting, plus one of the hydraulic cylinders was leaking. The last trip the Dr. took her into the dealership most of the fuel system was replaced (injectors, fuel pump, pressure regulator, etc.) because it was 'running rough' - and when it was still 'running rough' the Dr. decided on a new 2001 9-3 Convertible and parked the CE in one of the barns. I cleaned out the throttle body and she's been running fine ever since, with only an occasional high-idle.

All of the paintwork appears to be original with some fading on the hood. We see no evidence of any body work or repaint. It drives very well with no squeaks or rattles. The car has been kept in meticulous condition by my mechanic who loves old SAABs and specializes in SAABs. I have all the maintenance records from the time I bought it. The car has only one or two very minor scratches and dings. I replaced the ragtop a few years ago and also replaced the stereo system with a rebuilt original. It runs wonderfully and I drive it all the time. For the past several years, I have garaged the car in the winter. I kept it covered for most of the years I have owned it. It is a VERY fun car to drive!
I was very lucky to buy this beauty in Spring '09 from its loving owner based in Boston. She was the car's second owner, having purchased it from Village SAAB in Acton, MA in June '95. She maintained the car beautifully with help from a Master Tech who works at that shop. I think her care is best illustrated by the fact that the original clutch is still in excellent shape after 170k miles! Since buying the car, I have repaired some minor body issues such as a torn rear bumper cover and dented wheel well, but otherwise no work was necessary. Also, the previous owner had dogs that scratched the rear seat over the years, but I was thrilled to find an exact replacement (with the dark gray piping!) from a junked CE. Future plans include replacing the SPG wheels with Super Aero's (previous owner did not have the CE asymmetricals for some reason), and I would also like to shorten the clutch throw. This baby is a dream to own, and I hope to drive it for at least another 170k miles!

COMMENTS:I purchased this from the saabnet classifieds in 2006. I am the second owner. The car was bought at Reinertsen in Denville NJ in 1994, so it is still a single state registered vehicle. It was owned by a shool teacher who used the car as her daily drive until she sold it to me. The separation anxiety was apparent! I have most of the original paperwork including the window sticker. The car has been garaged since new, is in excellent shape with only a few little dings in the paint. I plan on having some minor engine repairs done in sping 2007 and will use it as my Summer/Nice weather toy. My daily drive is a 2003 95 SW.

COMMENTS:#392 is slowly being restored to original condition (new top, interior, etc.) in Houston, Texas. It was purchased (2007) from a recent college grad in Oklahoma City (the past owner - who must had many of great times in/with the car). The prior owner purchased the SAAB from the American Cancer Association as an donated car (2003) and spent four years as a college car at University of Missouri - Rolla. Today, it has a more peaceful life in the driveway or garage -only driven on the better days in Houston, Texas. Once, restored it will have a new home in Hot Springs, AR and driven in the Ozarks Mountains.

COMMENTS:I purchased the car on 2/15/08 from the second owner in Honolulu, Hawaii. I shipped the car (in poor mechanical condition) to Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii where it has been partially resurected! The second owner had it for only a few months where it sat outside and was only driven a few hundred miles. Since I have owned I have sunk several thousand into it just to get it up to good shape as a daily driver. If only the car could talk I'm sure it would clear up a lot of the surprises I have discovered since owning the car and doing a lot of the work myself. Someone in the Navy was the original owner and it's been to Italy and Argentina! Originally it was sold in California and shipped to Hawaii. From the looks of things many different people have worked on (many unsuccefully) the car and attempted to do repairs! It is my second SAAB 900, the other one was a '92 900S sedan with manual transmission and that was when I realized what great cars they really are.

COMMENTS: It's been a fun dailty driver. Wife doesn't like it for some reason and we have too many cars. AC works, compressor 2 years old. Interior nice but not fully original, Carpet in back seat is bad. Cracks in dash-I've had a dash cover on it since I've had it. Turbo works. Exterior with no dents but paint is poor. There is rust in the uprights along the front windshield-cannot replace cracked windshield unless this gets fixed. Tires are about 50%. Runs good but right now the idle is too slow-I'll probably have that fixed over the next couple days. Roof is intact except the driver side by trunk is loose. The electronic top does not work but it opens manually. I've taken care of this car since I've had it but it looks like it had a rougher life before. COMMENTS: We bought this car new for my wife from a SAAB dealer in Des Moines IA, in October 1993. It was our first big purchase together after getting married that August. She drove it to Iowa State University for a couple of years and it had very regular use during the next 4 years as we continued to live in Des Moines during a very happy time on transfer from the UK. In 1997, our first son was born and so that he could know his grandparents, we reluctantly decided to leave the US and return to England. The car was part of the family, so we paid $1500 to ship it back to the UK with us. A few months later we picked it up from the dock in Southampton. It has been with us ever since. In its life it has had a new clutch, and a cylinder head gasket. Apart from that, it has never had a problem. It is totally original, with a couple of minor dents...the worst one received when my wife backed into it in our driveway a few years back. We are just at the point where it needs a little TLC, although it still drives like new. Update: This car got a complete restoration and had a RHD conversion done by Paradise Club Classic Saabs in the UK (2010).

COMMENTS: I found the car for sale on Craigslist in fall of 2006, and drove out with a friend to Cape Cod to have a look at it. The car had been off the road for about a year, ever since it had begun smoking heavily. We got the car running and drove it up onto my friend's roll-on. Back home, I tore down the engine and discovered that the head gasket was blown, the head had cracked and been welded (badly), and the turbocharger was shot. I've had the turbocharger rebuilt (by Majestic Turbo), and located a good replacement head. My plan is to put it all back together over the winter of 2007. For sale 04/28/10

COMMENTS: I am the third owner of this beauty. Originally purchased in Chicago, it made its way to Massachusetts via Wyoming. Surprisingly, this car has no rust. There are no cracks in the dash.
