- COMMENTS:For the first year of this Saab 93CE's life, it was owned by a Saab Executive. During that time, this car (#002/325) was used as the subject in a series of official Saab photo shoots, including a popular image depicting it parked in New York City - with the World Trade Center in the background. In September 1994, with 9,222 miles on the clock - it was sold to its second owner, an executive of Texaco Oil in Poughkeepsie, NY. In 1998 - the car was again sold - to its third owner and shipped to St. Simon's Island, Georgia, where it remained until I obtained it in May 2006 with 155,520 miles on the odometer. The car is complete but in average condition for its mileage. Mechanically, I repaired all of the defects in the car which included replacing the ABS controller, the ABS pressure accumulator, the driver- and passenger-side window motors, door and window seals, etc. There is a little rust forming on the door bottoms and near the battery tray - but overall the car is very solid - and original. It needs a CV joint on the passenger side as well as a repair of both its power-steering and water pumps. The interesting thing about this car is that I had the opportunity - back in 1993 - to actually drive it. The car happened to be at my local Saab dealership one afternoon when I stopped in to pickup some parts. I immediately fell in love with the car - and the dealership's sales manager told me it was owned by a Saab executive that was touring the facility. That owner graciously allowed me to "test-drive" the car. I felt it was serendipitous that 13 years later the same car and I would cross paths again.

- COMMENTS: The car is in nice shape overall, runs and drives nicely and passed California smog testing (unusually) well. The interior is in very good shape with the exception of the cracks in the dashboard and the headliner has started to sag. The exterior is quite nice with a few warts when scrutinized. The car's "Carfax" report revealed a couple of years on the east coast at some point though otherwise it has had a California life - with the according lack of rust. The engine is not the original though is one of a comparable year with lower mileage - many parts were preemptively replaced when motor installed. (the original engine has been sitting on my bench full of new parts looking pretty for a while - its sale may be negotiable) For sale 5/19/08.

- COMMENTS:I am the third and last owner of this car, it being the best Saab ever built and the last of its kind, also the best number seeing as how I've become a believer in the power of the 13! I'll never sell it because the world simply does not know how great this car is and they value it not at all according to its true value and not just what it's worth on the market. This is my 6th Saab and the 4th identical 900 turbo, black. Before this one I owned number 201 but sold it to a friend. This one is way better. It is taken care of by my favorite guys and gals at Scanwest Autosport in Seattle, they are the best! I've been taking my Saabs to them for over 15 years and have no complaints except Rob promised me the really cool new race turbo and I never got it. I drive it over Snoqualmie Pass all the time and pass everybody going up, I figure the cops won't be looking for someone doing a 100 or more on the way up, so I never speed on the way down. Unique, beautiful, and made by SWEDES before GM got their greedy hands on Saab.

- COMMENTS: I'm the original owner. Car was purchased in Akron, Ohio, at Dave Walter Saab which is no longer selling Saabs. At 55,000 miles the car is in excellent condition and hasn't seen snow and very little rain in the last 12 years. Driven to several Saab Owners Conventions since 1993 and came away with many Concours tropies. Additions include, APC Group 9 Box, KN Air Filter, Side Aero Moldings, Group 9 Exhaust. Have all parts replaced except 'Red Box'. The car is an absolute delight to drive and draws many comments. It's a true 'Classic'

- COMMENTS: The car was purchased in South Carolina by the first owner who drove it about 90,000. I bought it in 1999 in Washington, DC. To my knowledge no modifications have been made. Most parts that have been replaced over the years have been done so with parts from other old Saabs so that everything appears original (ex, Clarion CD player, wiper transmition). The car has been parked on the street most of its life but is now garaged full time. For Sale 8/12/08

- COMMENTS: This car came from Florida and was bought by previous owner from Swedish Motors in Marietta PA in 1996. It had 30,000 miles on it. He then drove it 100K miles and bought a new 9-3. I then bought the car in Nov. 2004 with 130K on it and have done general maintenance items. I'm the third owner. Brass plaque is on the glovebox. Build # is 56, plaque is 113. I modified the sunroof to a manual when the splines stripped on the cables. Has aftermarket Blaupunkt CD only.

- COMMENTS: I am a car dealer and while at auction I came across this 900 CE. I was completely unaware it was a CE, I just wanted a classic 900 for myself. I am in the process of restoring it fully. When my 900CE was at auction in Phoenix it was covered in dust/dirt so you could not tell the paint underneath was still glossy. I actually drove it off the auction lot and it does not need any major repairs. Not bad for $500.00. I believe I am now the 3rd owner. Receipts dating back to 2001 have it in Arizona. I plan on having this Saab for a very long time! My best buy ever and its exactly what I want!

- COMMENTS: From registrant; I saw this car on eBay a couple of years ago and went to look at it. The car was in fairly rough shape, the interior was moldy and the car obviously leaked rain water. It appeared to be stock. The car had a SALVAGE title from what looked to be a fairly hefty hit to the front end. Vehicle also had rear end damage with slight sheet metal crushing to the rear quarter panels. Hatch was a replacement from an earlier model 900 - I recall MY1988, but I could be wrong. Lived a hard life...

- COMMENTS:I purchased the '93 900T in the fall of 2006 from a woman in Chiago. My insurance company noted its status as a CE when a premium renewal notice came. Neither I not the seller knew that it was CE at the time I bought it, as the plaque was missing. To be sure, I noticed the walnut dash face, the APC red box, etc., but thought they were add-ons, the same way that the factory aero kit that was on it was an add-on. The car got a new head gasket and timing chain at 108k miles. Because of a pending lifestyle change, I placed the car up for sale and it has gone to am experienced Saab tech at a dealership in Ann Arbor. He apppreciates the car's status and value.

- COMMENTS: I purchased this car in 2001 from the 2nd owner with 35,000 miles on it. It spent most of its life the garage of the 1st owner's 2nd or 3rd home. The car was repainted by the original dealer to metallic bronze. They completley took it apart so as to mask only those things they couldn't remove, like VIN stickers. It was an excellent paint job and thus, this is the only non-black CE from the dealer that I'm aware of. It was in immaculate condition when I bought it but is my daily driver so has picked up a few minor scratches and some wear-and-tear. It does not leak a drop of the synth oil I run in both the engine and trans. Never failed mechanically.

Near mint condition. 9000 brakes have been added and the sound sytem updated with a very custom subwoofer in the trunk area. It it the best condition. Best old body style 900 I ever, ever see. I am considering getting it painted over the winter of 2007.

- COMMENTS: Purchased from the second owner, a SAAB Master Mechanic in July of 2000. It had 82,424 miles. I have added a SPG9 stainless cat/back exhaust, K&N Drop in filter, Rising Rate FPR, AID, blue injectors (24#) and Viggen bypass valve. The original Red Box has been adjusted to stage two at SPG9 (Dave Kennedy). Dave also rebuilt the turbo and upgraded the waste gate actuator with a quick release system (no more cotter pin!). I had other modifications, but have since removed and now like the way it runs (Nology Wires, MSD Ignition and Hyper-boost bypass valve). These mods caused me to have to back off the 'P' pot in the Red Box.

- COMMENTS: Just purchased didn't know about the CE background till I saw this site. Previous owner had already added to registry. Car runs well, Timing chain just replaced. Aero 9000 wheels, KONI shocks upgraded brakes. Headliner fixed, front seats are being repaired. Love this car, I have been looking for a 5 speed 2door (non convertible) for quite a while. Maintenance is done locally by Andrews of Princeton. Currently starting it with a screwdriver! :)
Comment by previous owner 3/2008: I can hardly believe this story. We stopped by our local little car lot 'The Auto Ranch' to look around just for fun. They sell mostly dealer trades. In the back is the Bargain Lot. I saw the tail end of a black 900 turbo back there. My son and I ventured back and checked the car over. It looked solid and rust free with glossy black paint! A little dirty and sad, but nice. My son said 'Dad, get this!' So we went in and talked to a sales person. She said 'It's a '93. I think that one is broken' and I replied 'ya, I'm sure it is. Thats the way I like them.' She got the owner of the lot. He said he picked it up in the middle of the winter not sure whats wrong with it but thought it was a bad turbo. I asked what he was planning to do with it and he said he was going to junk it and I could have it for $100.00!!! I thought this was an incredible deal on a nice 900 turbo and of course said 'I'll take it!' I still didnt know what I had at this point. Driving it home, my son pulls out from the glove box a brass plate that read Commemorative Edition 82 of 325. I was floored!

- COMMENTS: I am the third owner of this beautiful Saab. I bought it from a friend's grandma. She told me that she had a lot of the service records still and they had bought it from a local Saab dealership at the time. The person who owned the vehicle who traded it into the Saab dealer was a Technician actually at the Saab dealership. This car was kept with TLC and aside from a few common problems the car is basically mint condition, inside and out. It still even has the leather owners manual binder with all the owners manuals, umbrella, radio removal tools, and even an ad for the Commemorative Edition.

Engine and clutch are in great condition. I believe I am the 5th owner as it spent most of its live in Illinois. Car has no mods except for radio since it would not accept the factory code. - COMMENTS: I rescued this car from going to the junkyard. The previous owner kept up the car mechanically but neglected it cosmetically. She gave up on the car when the transmission failed. I had the trans rebuilt, practically hosed down the interior, had the leather seats repaired, and windshield replaced. Next up is installing an uncracked dash and having the headliner recovered. I now own the first and last model year of the 900, my other car is a 79 EMS.

The car needs replacement of the hatchback, the windshield, and the headlight covers (rock chips). I have an excellent replacement hatchback and am working on replacement of the windshield and headlights. The drivers seat leather and upper dash also need replacing. It is otherwise in excellent condition throughout. The engine compartment and undercarriage are immaculate. It will never be driven in our winter climate and will be stored indoors throughout the year.

It is a dream to drive :-) I am considering selling the car ONLY because I would like to restore my 3 other classic/vintage Saabs (a '72 96 V4, a '79 99 GL 2-Door, and a '79 900 GLE 5-Door). I certainly don't need 4 cars, but if I can find a way to keep them all, I will. I don't wish to sell any of them, but I may have to :-( Any offers?????

- COMMENTS: I'm the original owner of this special car, having first seen it on the turntable at the New York International Auto Show. It represents the best of the old SAAB, with great ergonomics, practicality, and performance -- the end of a 15-year run for the company, before GM. This car is a daily driver. I've done oil changes religiously every 2500. The frame is rust free and in good shape. It has a Group 6 APC box and exhaust, with K&N filter, new alternator, and new compressor. The original clutch lasted 165,000 miles. The original walnut dash and seat leather are in great shape. I did replace the driver's seat, first with a manual model, and then with a refurbished unit from a '92 900. Most work has been done due to parts wearing out from normal wear and tear. Recently spent a good bit to refurbish 2nd and 3rd gear by an excellent mechanic in MA. It now runs better than it did originally, with great acceleration. If anyone has recommendations on mechanics for additional performance upgrades, please send a note. BTW, my friend Bill has the museum version of this car. It is a gem."

- COMMENTS: I Just purchased this car to add to my Saab collection (8/2008). I will be the 3rd owner of the car and its only done a bit over 100K miles. It's a 1993 900 CE but does not have the brass plate. Oddly enough it was purchased new in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The car was delivered on 11/11/1993 and I have all (EVERY SINGLE ONE!) service record from 12/1993 until this year. Pretty neat for a guy like me with multiple mystery history c900's.
As the car was a Canadian delivery car, it has a sticker on the passenger side window that says 15/15 -- and the lady I bought it from said that it is because it is 15/15 of the special commemorative editions sold in Canada that year. I thought this was incorrect and it just happened to be a black/tan 900T. She thought it was called a "Sport" edition and not a commemorative by the way. However when I checked the VIN list on this site it is indeed build # 146 of the VIN #'s listed. It does not have the brass plaque so I am not sure what # it is in terms of the "series". The lady said it never had one and I checked the owners manual packet, not included.
The car started in Toronto with owner #1 and then #2, then to Atlanta, then to Nashville with owner #2, and now to me, owner #3.
The car is stock with the exception of some wheelarches that I think are the Saab aerokit wheelarches; however the car does not have the SPG side panels so they go all the way down to the lower edge of the car/mudflaps on the front... first I've never seen this. Not sure why they were added and the lady I bought it from said they were on the car from new delivery in Canada per original owner. I'm going to have to do some work on the arches as a couple were "fixed" with screws and have plastic cracks as a result. They look bad. I plan on removing them and putting standard narrow 900 wheelarch strips on.
Couple other oddities about the car: Mileage is in kilometers (180Kms show and its correct based on svc history), the speedo is in km, and even the fuel gauge is slightly different (I'll take a pic but the fractions / %'s of the fuel level are in euro-code or something). It had the headlights replaced a few years ago from an Atlanta Saab dealer with the regular US lights so no e-codes.
Everything works on the car except: AC, pass side window is slow, 4th gear synchro is almost toast (but trans feels great otherwise).
There looks to have been a persistent leak in the trunk, the left floor under spare tire has rotted unfortunately as the drain was clogged above the exhaust (not uncommon) but the rest of the floorpan is solid. Pass side door has some rust at bottom. Drivers door is good with only a little rust. Note that there is a repair from 1997 showing that a Saab dealer "repaired corrosion on bottom of drivers door at no charge under warranty" -- in only 4 years! That is prob why the drivers door is much better than the pass. Since the car is black, I'll probably replace the pass door with an unrusted one and repaint the right side of the car only since color match is relatively simple with black.
There is also a surface rust beginning on the underside / pass front suspension area. Not down by the a-arms but actually under the hood on the shock tower area. I did check it very thoroughly where the a-arms mount/frame rails connect -- its very surface now but I will be attacking it ASAP so as to not become worse / terminal.

- COMMENTS: I'm the second owner of the car and purchased it in 2001 in southern California. First owner had an accident with it and the hood is sitting a little higher than normal but not too bad. Not sure if the hood is slightly deformed or just out of adjustment. Have replaced the dash (major cracks), headliner, the front bumper cover, and converted the AC to R134. Otherwise, everything is stock and the car is my daily driver. Very reliable, fun to drive, and extremely practical!

- COMMENTS: From what I've figured out from Carfax, I'm the 4th owner of this car. The car apparently was crashed badly in 1998 as it has a reconstructed title and the front right fender has a different VIN, but whoever fixed it did an amazing job. No modifications have been made to the car other than a K&N air filter, and it's still running strong and being used as my daily driver.

- COMMENTS:I bought the car new in 1993 as a replacement for my 1984 Turbo. 14 years and 197,000 miles later 'The Black Bird' is still running on the original turbo(perfect)and has needed very little in the way of major repairs other than the usual things that are expected to wear out through use (ie: clutch (1), brake pads & rotors, exhaust system, alternator (1), and other bits and pieces that one would expect over time). The car is very solid, quiet, powerful, and a joy to drive every day and in all sorts of weather. The only major work was an engine top end rebuild at about 160,000 mi at which time I also replaced the original clutch & pressure plate. Oil and filter are changed every 3,000 miles. I've done no real modifications to the car as I've always found it to be a well balanced design as delivered from the factory, capable of supporting my many activities and changing personalities as necessary. I say this after starting off with a '76' 99 3door followed by an '84'900T 3door which were great cars. The '93 is the best of the bunch, being the most refined example of a long lived configuration . I only wish I could make it last forever. Now, if Saab would come out with a 9-5 3-door with all-wheel drive and a 6-speed trans. For sale 1/10/08

- COMMENTS: This is my second 900 Turbo CE and my fourth 900 Turbo overall. The previous 3 all went over 240,000 miles. I purchased my first Commemorative Edition in 1996 with 35,000 miles. That one did not have the Commemorative plaque, and I tried in vain to verify the number. I met 4 other Commemorative owners at the 1997 SOC in Waterville Valley, NH. Our picture (5 CE's) appeared later that year in the SAAB USA owners magazine. After more than 200,000 miles I retired it, and found this one #186. I drive this rarely, though it may do winter duty this year.

- COMMENTS: I purchased the car over the internet in October 2008 from a fellow saab enthusiast who had a few CE's. The car sat for awhile, but had low mileage and was in very good shape. Needless to say, I had to have it. In the past I've had tons of SAABs but always found the 900 turbo to be the most pleasing to drive overall (comfort, handling, etc). Right now, I'm currently doing a light, professional restoration with the goal of having this car in cherry, stock condition in the near future. There is nothing like a Saab 900T, especially with the redbox and improvements accompanying our CE models...A true example of a REAL SAAB and a truly unique vehicle overall. I plan on keeping her for a long time!

- COMMENTS: I bought this car with 29,400 miles on it and it is still by 'baby'. The engine was rebuilt at 190K and the transmission at 2llk. I have been the only driver and have never raced or abused this car. The interior and exterior are in excellent shape and have always immediately taken care of any problem, or rust or dent as it appeared. The car is still very tight and powerful and a joy to drive!!! There has been many replacement parts, of course, and the most recent is the Master & Slave cylinders (new). The clutch was replaced at 170K and I have all records and receipts since I purchased the car. I have winter wheels with 2yr.old Blizzak tires, the original wheels with 2 yr.old Michelins. I would be happy to answer any questions and give the name of the shop that has taken care of this car and all my other Saabs. For sale 2/14/08.

It spent time in Beacon Hill and Martha's Vineyard, then was sold to a girl in the Boston area, who then sold it to her repair shop; Mecca Motors. I bought the car on Saabnet on 12-26-02 and have been doing all the work to bring the car into better working order. It's not that bad, one of the nicer ones out there. It has required little more than the usual repairs and maintenance- no major work- and runs great. We have replaced the headliner and had a little bodywork done; need to get the seats recovered. - COMMENTS: From at-large registrant; This car was seen up for sale in June 2005 for $7995. At the time it had about 59,234 miles on the odometer - although the car 'appeared' to have much more on it considering its filthy interior and engine condition. It was a one-owner car. It was missing the dash plaque. The CarFax came back clean though. A/C did not work and the headlamp wipers were missing. Also power windows were inoperative.

- COMMENTS: I am a NYS dealer and this car was just traded in on a new Volvo. A friend of mine knew that I liked SAABs so he called me to inform me of the location of the SAAB. Needless to say I purchsed this car with no resevations. I have owned several 900's but this is my all time favorite. It is a one owner with only 76,000 miles on it, and it's mostly original except for the wooden shifter and it was repainted, but the paint is a beautful job. Everything seems to work the way it should except the power drivers seat recline and the c/d. This car was bought new in Endicott N.Y.on [10/10/93] where it has remained its whole life. This SAAB drives better than some of the newer cars, and looks beautful. What a joy to drive. I don't know if I could part with this car.

- COMMENTS:Originally sold in Winfield, PA. A carfax shows registrations in NJ (1997-1999), DE (1999-2000) and VT (2004-2006). This car was involved in a minor traffic accident in January 2007 (damaged passenger fender and hood). It was totaled by the insurance company and was bought back by the owner. I purchased it in March 2007 for restoration. Update 12/2007: the restoration is complete. I was able to find a black hood and fender and they are now on the car. The only painting I had to do was on the inner fender where the new fender was spot welded on. I also added an open-element air filter, intercooler fan, an OEM whaletail spoiler, SPG vent covers, an OEM sunroof wind deflector and a short-throw shifter. I also redid the headliner and re-dyed and sealed the seats. The car had a performance exhaust installed when I bought it.

- COMMENTS: Acquired from a non-enthusiast in Colorado, I had it shipped to the Bay Area. It was filthy when it arrived. It did, however, boost straight into the red when I drove it, and the transmission is butter smooth. Someone took care of the engine and transmission. They also installed Bilstein shocks, so it's a bit of a rough ride; I would have preferred Koni. I'm now in the process of getting some accessories (if you have a wood shift knob, let me know!) and replacing various interior parts (mostly plastic). I will post some pictures soon.

- COMMENTS: I'm the proud second owner of this CE coupe, which I purchased on June 3, 2008. The car has spent its entire life in the area and is in good overall condition. With 165,600 miles, it does need some TLC, cosmetically and mechanically. Seats, headliner, minor body work on the cosmetic side. CV axles, transmission synchros, A/C service on the mechanical side. In other words, it's a project car in running condition. I also own a 2001 steel gray Viggen convertible. I had recently begun looking for a Classic 900 Turbo coupe when this car became available through Sportcar Service, my SAAB center in Wilmington. They have serviced this car since 1994 and have all appropriate service records on file.

- COMMENTS: This black beauty found me while working at a BMW dealer in spring 2007. She was tired but not abused. The original owner knew what he had and kept her updated w/ repairs. First was a paint job. I purchased 2 solid doors, hatch, hood and OEM vent covers. Spare tire compartment and underneath need attention also. Then of course all new chrome, trim and a head liner. Motor mounts, suspension, air intake, tune up, manual boost controller, new speakers and amp, new generation stainless Saab sport exhaust, a few interior odds and ends and she seems fairly happy. I drive it as a daily driver doing real estate in the tri-city area. After working in sales for Saab over 8 years I had only see a handful and was looking for a clean one to recondition for about 3 years. I have a block and head worked and ready to install this winter. What a treat to drive!
